Brats & Sauerkraut Recipe

15 - 20 min

serves 4⁠

You will need:⁠

- 4 Bratwursts

- 1 medium Yellow Onion, thinly sliced

- 1 cup Palisade Peach Shack's German Sauerkraut

- 2 bottles of dark German Beer

- 4 tablespoons Butter

- 4 Hoagie Buns

- Dijon Mustard


Cooking Instructions

Place bratwursts and onion in a medium pot, and pour both bottles of beer over the top. Bring liquid to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Let simmer for 10 minutes.


Remove brats from the liquid and place in a pan on medium-high heat. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side or until browned.


Cut buns 3/4 of the way through and butter inside and outside of the rolls. Place buns into a pan on medium heat. Cook for 2-3 mins on each side of the bun or until golden brown.

Place 1/4 cup of Palisade Peach Shack's German Sauerkraut into a freshly toasted bun. Top with a bratwurst and finish with a line of dijon mustard.
